Steve Brown
Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist BSc Hons, MSc, MCSP, HCPC reg Steve graduated with First Class honours in his BSc (hons) Sports Science degree, from the University of Brighton in 2005. He continued his studies at the University, graduating with a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Science (Physiotherapy) in 2008. He spent the later part of 2008, and early 2009, volunteering at a school for children with special needs, in Thika Kenya and working with the Kenyan national football team. Upon his return, Steve entered into the National Health Service, where he spent 20 months completing his junior rotations at Eastbourne District General Hospital and East Surrey Hospital. Steve has a strong interest in sport, and in particular football. He combined his full time NHS post with working within the Crystal Palace Football Club Academy in the 2009/10 season. To further his specialisation in Sports Physiotherapy, Steve left the NHS in July 2010 to take the post of Head of Youth Physiotherapy at Plymouth Argyle Football Club. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season, Steve started working at Millwall Football Club as a First Team Physiotherapist, where he remained for 5 1/2 years. In October 2016 Steve left Millwall to concentrate on his private practice. |
Helen Hingston
Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist BSc Hons, PGdip, MASCP, MCSP, HCPC reg Helen qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2000 with a BSc (hons) in physiotherapy. After graduation she spent 4 years at Guys and St Thomas hospital, where she specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. She subsequently gained valuable experience working in New Zealand, and in the private sector. Helen started working in St. George's hospital in 2005 as a musculoskeletal physiotherapy team leader, with a special interest in the shoulder. She completed her post graduate diploma in Advanced Physiotherapy (Neuromuscolosketal) at Hertfordshire University in 2012, and has a post graduate certificate in injection therapy. She is also a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). |
Celia qualified from Oxford Brookes University in 2006 with a degree in Physiotherapy (BSC Hons). After qualifying Celia completed her junior rotations at East Surrey Hospital (including: Care of the Elderly, Respiratory, Out-patients and numerous more) before taking a senior position within the Care of the Elderly Team. She then moved to Chichester Hospital Respiratory team for a year before taking up a senior role within the Acute Medical Team back at East Surrey Hospital, where she remains on part-time basis. Celia has a keen interest in rehabilitation of the older adult as well as maintaining function and independence in at risk population groups, such as patients with dementia and those at risk of falls. |
Laura graduated from Brighton University in 2008 with a Masters degree in Rehabilitation Science (Physiotherapy) and has an extensive fitness background including; a BSc Sport and Exercise Science with Psychology, Premier Diploma in Sports Therapy and Personal Training and is a Qualified Fitness Instructor & Gym Manager After qualifying as a physiotherapist she completed rotations at Eastbourne General Hospital (including Respiratory, Stroke, Care of the Elderly to name but a few). In 2012 Laura joined the Respiratory team at East Surrey Hospital, later becoming the Team Leader, before starting her current role in the East Grinstead ProActive Community Team. Laura continues to have a very keen interest in Respiratory Physiotherapy and rehabilitation |
April qualified from the University of the West of England in 2008, before starting her Junior rotations at East Surrey Hospital. She continued her Junior rotations at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust between 2008 and 2011. April rejoined East Surrey Hospital, taking on the role of Senior Physiotherapist within the Acute Medical Team, in 2013. In 2015 April was promoted to Highly Specialised Physiotherapist with a special interest in the care of Older people. April had recently left the NHS to take up a new role within SB Physiotherapy and continues to have a keen interest in patients rehabilitation of older patient and Pilates |
Amy qualified in 2009 from St. Georges University of London Medical school. She completed her junior and some senior physiotherapy rotations at Central Surrey Health before moving to central London and working in the areas of Community, Respiratory and Acute Medicine. After a move locally in 2014, Amy joined the Acute Medical Team, as Team Leader, at East Surrey Hospital. Amy has a special interest in helping individuals regain their physical independence and brings a wealth of knowledge to the SB physiotherapy team |
